In September, the Minister for Sport and Civil Society announced that people and communities across the country are set to benefit from £48 million provided by the Life Chances Fund.

Minister for Sport and Civil Society, Tracey Crouch:

"We are committed to building a fairer society that works for everyone and social impact bonds are already having a transformational impact on people's lives.

This next round of funding will help make a difference to many more lives and I am looking forward to working alongside local councils to deliver projects and new services that help people reach their full potential."

Ripplez was awarded in-principle-funding of £2.2m from the Life Chances Fund in October 2018 to work with a social investor and Pause UK to expand our PAUSE Programme in the East Midlands.

This funding will give more women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care an opportunity to access the Pause programme to improve their well-being, resilience and stability.

This top-up funding has been used to support our work with three local authority commissioners to develop and set up three new Pause Practices funded through social outcomes contracts.

The first of these went live in Derbyshire in February 2020 where we are now working with up to 32 women to give them the opportunity to pause and take control of their lives breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma.
