On Thursday 1st November, Mayor Mike Carr and Mayoress Cilla Carr joined the Derby Community Parent Programme's birthday celebrations and recognised their work supporting young and vulnerable families in Derby City.

Mike and Cilla met some of the DCPP's excellent volunteers and learnt about their role in providing advice and support to young parents. Some of the DCPP's clients also attended and were able to meet and chat with the Mayor and Mayoress and many of the children who have benefitted from the support provided by Ripplez and the DCPP enjoyed entertainment and treats - when not engaging Derby's Mayoral representatives!

The DCPP's work struck a special resonance with Cilla Carr, who began her career as a nursery nurse for Derby City Council before moving onto other roles within the industry. Both Mike and Cilla, however, were staggered by the number of people our projects were reaching and admired Ripplez's continued steadfast mission to support families in Derby and Derbyshire.

We were overjoyed to welcome Mike and Cilla to the Derby Community Parent Programme's 2nd birthday and we appreciate their recognition of Ripplez and the DCPP's continued efforts in our communities of interest.

We hope to invite the Mayor and Mayoress back next year for the DCPP's 3rd birthday party, with fresh achievements to boast about!
